Two-year technical degree desired. IT network and telecommunications applications experience required. Monitoring experience is a plus. Basic knowledge of IT Networking and telecommunications. Understanding of methods and processes of business units supported. Demonstrates timely and effective response to customer and team member needs. Ability to work on enterprise systems and equipment. Ability to analyze multiple alarm systems and trouble reports. Ability to perform remote maintenance of enterprise equipment. Strong aptitude for technical understanding. Ability to interact with various departments, and internal and external customer groups, to perform necessary telecommunications work. Awareness of customer requirements, with emphasis on major initiatives. Ability to set priorities. Ability to respond effectively to diverse demands. Ability to provide personal availability and maintain rotation on call status. Ability to lift 45 pounds. Ability to see and distinguish between colors. Ability to work shift rotations.
Under general supervision, performs moderately complex tasks related to enterprise monitoring, remote network and circuit testing, coordination of complex application issues with multiple groups, installation, and/or maintenance. May be assigned specific projects within an individual business unit. o Provision and manage the transport network used to provide data/voice communications to Dominion locations and monitor the data/voice networks and critical applications for alarms including: Critical Dominion substations and electric/gas SCADA networks Dominion’s Data Centers at Innsbrook and OJRP Nuclear stations and other critical locations Corp Security Fusion Center network o Provide central management of leased services telecommunication issues and act as liaison with the telecom carriers’ support and field personnel o Work with Dominion IT telecom technicians to provision, test, and turn up new voice and data circuits o Coordinate repair of Dominion circuits and network elements with IT Telecom and provide centralized testing support o Communicate and coordinate network repair schedules and changes with critical infrastructure clients (SOC, ROCs, et al) o Provide after hours Help Desk support
