POSITION SUMMARY

The System Support Technician is responsible for assisting the information systems manager to

manage, control, and improve ERP systems, information systems, and various IT resources in

meeting goals of the department.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS – EXTERNAL AND INTERNAL

Reports to:

Information Systems Manager

Supervises:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

External: IT vendors / System Consultants / Suppliers and Customers / NHK Group

companies

Internal: All executives, staff and associates


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Assist the information systems manager to manage and maintain corporate IT

resources such as

a. Install and configure software and hardware

b. Information systems and network

c. Software licenses

d. Communication devices

B. Assist the information systems manager to control and secure information

systems such as

a. ERP systems

b. Protect the company assets such as data, hardware and software

c. Maintain Windows Security Updates and antivirus software updates on

servers, other computers, and mobile devices

d. User awareness training of information systems security

e. Access control systems

C. Troubleshoot and resolve technical or network problems


System Support Technician

D. Identify, isolate, and define network environment issues and recommend

solutions

E. Develop and implement solutions for system processing efficiency

improvement

F. Provide technical support for systems and ERP systems

G. Improve information systems and business functions

a. ERP system usage and utilization

b. Utilize IT resources to improve various business functions

H. Coordinate outside service vendors for information systems

I. Maintain confidentiality of data as appropriate

J. Collaborate with other professionals to maintain standards and functionalities

K. Work ethically

MENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

C. Ability to travel by commercial air carrier or by car as necessary

WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS

A. Typical office environment with occasional exposure to plant floor as necessary

Personal Protective Equipment is required on plant floor

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

A. Associate’s degree in information systems or in a related field

B. Two or more years of experience in a similar position

C. Certifications (CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+) are

preferred


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

A. Solid knowledge of IT systems and applications

B. Must have multitasking skills in order to efficiently organize and be able to

manage multiple tasks and projects

C. Comfortably collaborate with the managers and team members as well as

working

independently on tasks

D. Excellent English written and verbal communication skills

E. Must be a self-starter/self-motivator
