Ability to gain the knowledge of Pipeline tariff sections concerning gas quality requirements. Skill in using hand and maintenance tools. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. Ability to see objects at close range, to see in the distance, and to determine distance and relationship between objects. Ability to smell to detect burning materials, natural gas, and hazardous substances. Ability to match or discriminate between colors. Able to handle emergencies and to respond to stressful situations. Ability to distinguish the nature of sounds, to hear equipment warning signals. Ability to respond to emergency conditions, which may include changing flat tires, operating jacks, performing minor maintenance. Ability to prioritize work. Ability to develop knowledge of equipment such as pipeline valves, Over pressure protection devices and pressure regulating devices. Ability to gain knowledge of safely excavating a in service High Pressure Natural gas Pipeline.
Install, maintain and/or operate equipment such as tankage, product loaders, pressure regulators, valves, pipeline locators, and other related equipment. Maintain and operate, DOT pipelines, measurement, and related equipment. Ensure pipelines and facilities are protected against damage from outside forces. Locate facilities prior to excavation. Maintain accurate field records, and reports on all equipment. Communicate current status and coverage of operational responsibilities to supervisor and coworkers. Under the direction of a supervisor or qualified employee, install new equipment and facilities. Analyze and interpret data, and take or recommend appropriate actions. Help conduct some minor technical and safety training for operations personnel. Assist in compliance with all codes, standards, and permits regarding operation and maintenance of systems and facilities. Participate in internal process improvement and problem solving teams. Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
This position will require some travel with overnight stays in the Kingman Arizona Area, Flagstaff area and some travel to Riverside California.
