Minimum of 3 years experience. Education: Bachelors Discipline: Accounting preferred Experience analyzing data and/or related experience. Knowledge of accounting and financial principles and practices. Knowledge of commodity trading activities and utilities preferred. Ability to manage multiple activities, resources, and time. Proficient personal computer skills and understanding of software applications. Ability to exercise independent judgment and decision-making in planning, organizing and conducting work assignments. Ability to effectively utilizes the proper resources to develop solutions and devise new approaches encountered in work assignments. Verbal and written communication skills.
This role completes moderately complex accounting activities related to commodity transactions, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, month-end closing updates, and analysis of transactions. Works with counterparties for resolution of discrepancies and transaction validation. Prepares monthly management reports. Validates actualization of all monthly commodity transactions. Bring inconsistencies and problems to attention of management. Performs various work assignments under limited supervision of lead accountants and manager. Routinely interact with internal and external customers. Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
